JAWS Specific Keystrokes for Microsoft Word 2000.
Adjust JAWS Verbosity use INSERT+V. When in Word, opens the JAWS Verbosity dialog. This dialog presents options for changing the way JAWS speaks, which are unique to Word.
Announce Comment use ALT+SHIFT+APOSTROPHE. Reads a comment associated with a cell in a table or spreadsheet.
Announce Footnote Or End Note use ALT+SHIFT+E. Reads the footnote/endnote for the reference. The text must be selected.
Close Office Assistant use CTRL+INSERT+F4. Closes the Office Assistant.
Convert Shapes To Inline use ALT+CTRL+SHIFT+C. Changes unreadable graphics such as WordArt to text that can be read by JAWS.
Convert Table To Text use INSERT+F5. Converts a table to text and puts the PC cursor at the beginning of the converted text. The table is replaced by the converted text.
Describe Border Of Text Unit use ALT+SHIFT+B. Says border color, type of border and point size for the bordered text.
Focus To First Form Field use CTRL+INSERT+HOME. In a forms document moves focus to the first form field.
Font Dialog use CTRL+SHIFT+F. Selected text or entered text will use this font. This dialog box lets you select the font, the style, and the point size. It affects any text that is selected at that time, or is entered from the keyboard afterward.
List Comments use CTRL+SHIFT+APOSTROPHE. Provides a list of comments given by reviewer to selected text.
List Hyperlinks use INSERT+F8. Provides a list of hyperlinks for the entire document.
List Inline Objects use CTRL+SHIFT+O. Provides a list of objects in a format JAWS can read.
List Spelling Errors use CTRL+SHIFT+E. Brings up a list of spelling errors.
List Revisions use CTRL+SHIFT+V. With Track Changes on, this feature lists the changes to the document.
List Grammatical Errors use CTRL+SHIFT+G. If Check Grammar as you Type is on, this feature lists the grammatical errors within a document.
Next Page use CTRL+PAGE DOWN. Moves to the top of the next page and speaks the current line.
Point Size use CTRL+SHIFT+P. Show or change print point size. Affects any text that is selected at that time or entered from the keyboard afterward.
Read Mistake And Suggestion use INSERT+F7. Reads and spells the misspelled word and the first suggestion in the spelling dialog.
Read Table Column use CTRL+SHIFT+C. Says the contents of all cells in the current column.
Read Table Row use CTRL+SHIFT+R. Says the contents of all cells in the current row.
Say Column Title use ALT+SHIFT+C. Reads the column of the current cell in the currently selected table.
Say Cursor Position use ALT+DELETE. Reports the distance from the left and top edges of the page in the default unit of measure when the PC cursor is active in the current document window. The page number is also included as part of the description.
Say Color use INSERT+5. Identifies the font color when you set it from the Font dialog.
Say Column Title use ALT+SHIFT+C. Says the column title from any cell in the column.
Say Field use CTRL+INSERT+NUM PAD 5. Reads the contents of the current field, i.e., a table cell or a form field.
Say First Cell In Column use ALT+1. Reads the content of the first cell in the current column, which is often the header of the column.
Say First Cell In Row use ALT+7. Reads the content of the first cell in the current row, which is often the name of the row.
Say Language In Use use ALT+CTRL+SHIFT+A. Announces the language of the block of text in focus.
Say Line And Column use INSERT+DELETE. Announces the line and column that is located in the status line.
Select Next Heading Style use ALT+SHIFT+RIGHT ARROW. Moves forward through the heading style in the Style drop-down list.
Select Prior Heading Style use ALT+SHIFT+LEFT ARROW. Moves up through the list of heading styles in the drop-down list.
Say Row Title use ALT+SHIFT+R. Reads the row of the current cell in the currently selected table.
Say Word Version use CTRL+INSERT+V. Announces the current version of Microsoft Word.
Select A Field use CTRL+SHIFT+L. Lists all the fields and form fields in a document and allows you to select one and move focus to it.
Select A Table use CTRL+SHIFT+A. Lists all tables in a document and allows you to move focus to the first cell in any table in the document. If the document is protected, you will be focused on the first form field in the selected table rather than the first cell.
Show Heading 1 use ALT+SHIFT+1. In Outline Views, displays only Heading 1.
Show Heading 2 use ALT+SHIFT+2. In Outline Views, displays 2 levels of Headings.
Show Heading 3 use ALT+SHIFT+3. In Outline Views, displays 3 levels of Headings.
Show Heading 4 use ALT+SHIFT+4. In Outline Views, displays 4 levels of Headings.
Show Heading 5 use ALT+SHIFT+5. In Outline Views, displays 5 levels of Headings.
Show Heading 6 use ALT+SHIFT+6. In Outline Views, displays 6 levels of Headings.
Show Heading 7 use ALT+SHIFT+7. In Outline Views, displays 7 levels of Headings.
Style use CTRL+SHIFT+S. Moves to the style combo box on the toolbar.
Toggle Between All And Headings Only ALT+SHIFT+A. Causes Word to Display all levels in Outline View.
Toggle Writing Mode use ALT+CTRL+I. Toggles between insert and overtype modes.
