HW2 – your participation as a reviewer

You will receive two articles sent in electronic format (MS Word, PC compatible) labeled by author’s last name and –1 or –2, indicating your role as the primary or secondary reviewer, respectively. Your role is to carefully review the article and provide a score and critique to the editor.

Print and return a hardcopy of the 3 review items below. Do not put your name on any of these, just indicate whether you are providing comments for the –1 or –2 version, according to the file name you received so I can cross-reference who filled them out.

Summary: HW 2 Deliverables – ALL 3 SUBMITTAL IN HARDCOPY ONLY

1. ‘Reviewer Evaluation Metrics’ score sheet for both papers you reviewed (-1 and –2) with scores tallied per the criteria provided (hardcopy only, except CAETE)
2. ‘Comments to Author’ - cut and paste sentences, phrases, etc. and just note the approximate location by page and paragraph number to comment on specific wording, point out typos or critique ideas as written in the text, these will be provided verbatim to the author ~ expectation is at least a page or 2 of comments here
3. ‘Comments to Editor’ - Any additional comments that you want to confidentially pass along to the editor, these will NOT be shared with the author ~ only as needed if you have concerns such as plagiarism, exceptionally poor writing style, etc.

CAETE students – submit electronic pdf copy only of all above materials, no need to send a hardcopy

Up to 1 point per day will be deducted from your final review grade (out of HW 2 = 5 pts total) for late submittals without approved extensions, including files returned to be corrected if you did not properly configure the anonymous settings. Please be courteous in getting this assignment returned on time, as your peers need to have your inputs to complete their revision for resubmission.
