Drigung Til

Located 130 km NE of Lhasa, the monastery was founded in the 12^th century and contained some 300 monks in 1959. Badly damaged during the Cultural Revolution, several buildings have been rebuilt and now it is the home of more than 100 monks.  A 45-minute circumambulation path leads to the well-known sky burial site on the far western end of the ridge. Stupas, shrines and prayer flags surround the boulders of the burial site.
