Dorje Drak

       Founded in the 16^th century by Tashi Tobgyel, the third incarnation of Godemchen, the terton who discovered the northern treasure of the Nyingma tradition. The monastery was destroyed first in 1718 by the Dzungar Mongols and then again during the Cultural Revolution. Reconstruction has been occurring since 1984.
