Suriya Vinayek

      Located just south of Bhaktapur, Suriya Vinayek is one of the four most important Ganesh shrines in the Valley. The other three major Ganesh shrines are identified as Candra Ganesa of Chabahil village, Kohena (Vighna) Ganesa of Chobar gorge, and Asoka Ganesa of the Kathmandu Durbar Square. The Suriya Vinayek temple is often the location for parents to take their children to pray to Ganesh when their children are suffering from ailments, because Ganesh is seen at this temple as a curing god, especially for the deaf and dumb.
